20 weeks! I can’t believe we are halfway to meeting our little love bug. We are having our gender reveal party this weekend and I cannot wait to announce the sex to friends, family, and you!!!
At 20 weeks going on 21, the baby’s kicks are getting stronger and her/his movements are more pronounced. I don’t have any crazy cravings, but my sweet tooth is out of control. I keep having to remind myself that being pregnant doesn’t give me an excuse to eat like a kid again, i.e. toaster strudels for breakfast 🙈.
As the weather warms up, I’ve able to wear more and more dresses. Most of the dresses already in my closet are either loose and flowy or stretchy and form-fitting. It’s been perfect for my belly at this stage so I haven’t had to buy any real maternity clothing.
What I have bought more of are shoes with lower heels. I recently grabbed these booties, which I’m obsessed with since they’re perfect for spring and so comfortable. I’ve also recently bought these kitten heels (more colors here) and they are PERFECT for work and were already comfortable out of the box. I sized up half a size and ordered a size 7 and it was perfect fit. I packed these for a work conference I’m currently attending.
My advice to any momma to be who’s on a budget? Look for those adjustable waist, empire, shift, and stretchy dresses in your closet and while out shopping. Maybe you’re not quite big enough for real maternity clothing, maybe you don’t want to drop a bunch of money on maternity clothing you’ll wear for a few months, maybe you just haven’t seen anything you love. My advice is buy pieces that you can wear now and also AFTER the baby.
This dress is perfect for preggos and non-preggos. I have it in three colors and LOVE it. I think I still have another 3 weeks before I have to give it up. But I can say I wore it for more than half my pregnancy!
I haven’t bought any maternity clothing except for this belly band. I’ve actually tried buying maternity clothes, but even the smallest size is still too big for my belly. I know this will change as the baby grows, but for now, I’m happy I can still wear things that I had in my closet pre-baby bump :).
